I just read a report on the German news site of BILD.de.
The report’s headline: Polizeihund muss eingeschläfert werden (Police dog had to be euthanized).
A dog named Kaiser, a German shepard, member of the K9 unit of the Plymouth Police Department, had been put to sleep because of an illness. His human K9 unit mates saluted when his human officer took him on his last trip to the vet.
Some might think that to honor a dog is too much. But Kaiser like all other canine “officers” of K9 units around the world or in the military do a great job. They safe people and they are part of their families. And they never ask if they can help, they just do it.
